The Modern World - Seven Wonders

In 1994, the American Society of Civil Engineers compiled a list of Seven Wonders of the Modern World, paying tribute to the greatest civil engineering achievements of the 20th century. 

1. Channel Tunnel - It began works on December 1st 1987 and was completed May 6th 1994.

2. CN Tower - It began works on February 6th 1973 and was completed June 26th 1976.

3. Empire State Building -  It began works on January 22nd 1930 and was completed May 1st 1931.

4. Golden Gate Bridge -  It began works on January 5th 1933 and was completed May 27th 1937.

5. Itaipu Dam -  It began works on January 1970 and was completed May 5th 1984.

6. Delta Works -  It began works in 1920 and was completed May 10th 1997.

7. Panama Canal -  It began works on January 1st 1880 and was completed January 7th 1914.
